Dimple Sahni brings nearly 15 years of experience in investment banking, technology, emerging markets, and venture capital. Currently, Dimple provides strategic and investment advice to firms exploring both mission-related investing and emerging markets. Concurrently, she advises social entrepreneurs globally, on issues related to operational efficiency, strategy, financing, and governance.
Most recently, Dimple was a Manager of Investments at the Omidyar Network with a focus on Emerging Market Ventures and Property Rights. She was instrumental in developing the firm’s Emerging Markets Venture strategy with a specialization in India and the BOP market segment. Dimple led Omidyar Network's recent investments in Comat Technologies, a for-profit provider of technology-enabled solutions that promote socio-economic growth for rural communities in India and the Rural Development Institute, an international nonprofit that secures land rights for the world's poor. Her portfolio also included World of Good, an online and offline ethical retail marketplace empowering female producers all over the developing world and United Villages, a US-India mobile WiFi company providing services and a distribution channel across rural marketplaces. Dimple’s board responsibilities included Comat and World of Good.
Prior to joining Omidyar Network, Dimple completed her Kauffman Fellowship as a member of Class 10 at L Capital Partners in New York City. There she served as a technology generalist, making investments across data storage & connectivity, RFID and the semiconductor space. Her board responsibilities included WiSpry and OnPath Technologies. Prior to business school, Dimple focused on clean technologies as a strategic consultant to Earth Water Group in India. She co-founded Epylon.com, an IT services company directed at the public sector, which was sold to Accenture in 2001. Dimple began her career at Goldman Sachs working in both investment banking and sales & trading.
Education/Personal
Dimple has an MBA from the Wharton School of Business and a BA in both economics and South Asian studies from the University of Chicago.
Fellowship
Dimple is a member of Kauffman Fellows Class 10 and served her fellowship under mentor John Levy at L Capital Partners in New York.
