Lisa’s experience and entrepreneurship has contributed to over a billion dollars in exit value from emerging technologies. Since before founding Valor, Lisa focused on finding quality founders who create high-performance outcomes. She founded an Atlanta digital marketing agency recognized by Hubspot as one of the “Top 10 Agencies for Tech Startups” in the US, where she directly supported hundreds of high-growth, high-tech startups in early scale.
At Valor, Lisa is known for creating platforms and programs that connect private capital to transformational investment opportunities. She runs an active CIO/CTO Innovation Advisory board that connects emerging software founders to potential enterprise customers. She founded the Startup Runway Foundation, which runs the largest pitch event for minority and women founders seeking seed capital in the Southeast.
In her early career, Lisa worked in IT consulting, helping large organizations solve complex problems with code.
Education, Personal, and Fellowship
Lisa earned her MBA from the University of Texas with a concentration in management science and quantitative methods. She credits her graduate stat professor, who worked for Bell Helicopter, with opening her mind to the beauty of math as-applied-to finance. The first in her family to complete a degree, Lisa earned her BA, with Honors, on a National Merit Scholarship at Baylor.
Lisa is Chair of the Startup Runway Foundation and sits on several private company boards, including MyAgData and Women Who Code. She writes a national innovation column for Inc.
Lisa is mentored by Michael Kim, founder of Cendana Capital, and Michael Mansfield of Mansfield Oil, ranked #46 in Forbes private companies. She is a member of Class 23, serving her fellowship at Valor VC.
