Kauffman Fellows Academy, in partnership with Techstars, is once again offering Venture Deals as a free, interactive online course. Course runs from September 24 through November 13, 2017.

More than 5,000 students from six continents have taken this unique, 7-week course since its first run in 2014.

This course demystifies venture capital deals and give both first-time and experienced entrepreneurs a definitive guide to secure funding. Celebrated venture capitalists Brad Feld (Kauffman Fellows Board member) and Jason Mendelson, partners at the Foundry Group and authors of Venture Deals, reveal the secrets behind how venture financings really work. Interviewed by serial entrepreneur and Stanford adjunct professor Clint Korver (Kauffman Fellows Class 14), they explain in plain language, and often humorous terms, the sometimes-confusing elements of venture deals, detailing what’s critical and what’s not. Entrepreneurs learn the best strategies for getting a fair deal, from both their lawyers and the venture capitalists.

Students will have exclusive opportunities to engage with Brad Feld in forums and to collaborate on virtual teams with other class members to gain leadership and assessment skills that can be applied to fundraising strategies. Participants can also engage Brad, Jason Mendelson, and other celebrated investors in live video chats held during the 7-week course.

Below are a some of the Google Hangouts from past courses; we will be holding new conversations during the upcoming course with Brad and Jason on a variety of topics. The Startup Corner videos include the entire 30-minute conversations with Brad and Jason. Startup Tidbitz are less than 3 minutes each, and address questions posed on specific topics.
