Education

Anita holds an MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School, a Master of Science in Financial Economics from the University of Oxford, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Queens College at the City University of New York (CUNY), where she graduated as valedictorian. She serves on the boards of the F.D.R. Presidential Library and Museum, the Roosevelt Institute, and the CUNY Macaulay Honors College. She is a proud first-generation immigrant to the United States. 

Professional

Anita Sonawane is a Principal at Performance Equity Management (PEM), where she focuses on primary and secondary investments, as well as co-investments across venture capital, growth equity, and middle-market buyout strategies. Prior to joining PEM, she was a Vice President at Bessemer Trust, responsible for sourcing, selecting, and managing a diversified portfolio of private market investments. Earlier in her career, Anita was a member of the Global Alternatives team at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. While at J.P. Morgan, she also launched the Guide to Alternatives, a flagship publication that examines the evolving role of alternative investments in institutional portfolios. Anita began her career as an economist at Moore Capital Management, focusing on global macroeconomic research.
