Carlos Murguia is a Partner at Audaz Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm investing in startups that are disrupting industries where opportunity disparities persist. Strategically based in the Southwest, Audaz maintains a national outlook while driving inclusive innovation that enhances economic prosperity for founders and their communities. At Audaz, Carlos leads sourcing, diligence, portfolio support, ecosystem engagement, and reporting.

In addition to his role at Audaz, Carlos serves as Director of the Hunt Center for Entrepreneurship and leads the Technology and Innovation Gateway at New Mexico State University's Arrowhead Center, where he supports the development of innovation-based startups and technology commercialization efforts. He is a board member of the New Mexico Angels and is deeply involved in advancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem across New Mexico.

Carlos is a Fellow of both HBCUvc (Class 2) and the Material Change Institute (Class 2), and a graduate of the Center Leader Academy Certificate Program and ANDE’s Investment Manager Training. He was named to HBCUvc’s “31 Under 31 to watch in the VC industry” and received the Outstanding Graduate Award from the NMSU Alumni Association, the highest honor bestowed on a graduating master’s student.

Professional

Carlos holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from New Mexico State University and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico Superior de Uruapan (MX). He is also certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt by the Lean Six Sigma Institute.
