Education

Charlie received a Master of Engineering First Class Honours from The University of Leeds, UK and the Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. Transitioning into finance following an MBA at the Collège des Ingénieurs, Paris, Charlie later became a CFA charter holder.

Charlie lives with his wife and two daughters in the mountains outside of Geneva and is an avid ski tourer, trail runner and gravel biker.

Professional

Charlie is the General Partner at Seedstars International Ventures, where he leads a contrarian, emerging market-focused strategy investing in pre-seed and seed-stage B2B startups. The fund backs fintech, marketplaces, and SaaS companies in the growth economies of the future.

Following a two year entrepreneurial experience launching his own venture, Charlie joined the founding team of Seedstars in 2014. He played a key role in expanding the group’s activities to over 90 countries and in launching its first institutional venture capital fund, which has invested in more than 100 startups and is backed by the IFC, The Rockefeller Foundation, Symbiotics, and Visa Foundation.

Previously, Charlie spent four years at BlueOrchard Finance, where he invested over $100 million into financial institutions across Africa, MENA, and Asia. This experience cemented his belief in the power of capital markets to address some of the world’s toughest challenges and sparked his conviction that talent is everywhere, ready to unlock emerging market opportunities.
