He holds a Master's degree in economics from Claremont Graduate University in California and an MBA and BA in Managerial Economics from Universidad Anahuac.

Professional

Fernando is the CEO of Kauffman Fellows, the leading education and community platform for venture capitalists shaping the future of the industry. 

Co-founder and General Partner (inactive) at Matterscale Ventures, a venture capital firm launched by former Endeavor colleagues, investing in early-stage Latin startups. 

Co-founder and Director of eLabFellows.org, a fellowship launched with Columbia University faculty to support global entrepreneurs in edtech/workforce. 

Co-founder of Collective Academy, a top higher-ed school in Mexico. 

Board member of Escuela Bancaria y Comercial, and advisor to Grupo Bal and Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires. 

Since 2019, he has been an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs, SIPA, teaching the course Scaling Up in Hard Places: How Entrepreneurs Grow Outside of Silicon Valley. 

Prior to this, he was president of Endeavor.

Born and raised in Mexico City, he lives in New York with his family.

Fellowship

Fernando is a member of Class 14 and performed his fellowship at Endeavor Mexico. He has mentored numerous Fellows: Joanna Harries (Class 17), Tarek Sadi (Class 17), Catherine Townshend (Class 18), Sati Rasuanto (Class 18), and Baily Kempner (Class 18).
