Born and raised in Brazil, Guto lives in Colorado with his wife and kids. He attended Computer Engineering school at UNICAMP, received a degree in Communications from USP, and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management.
Guto is an entrepreneur turned venture capitalist as Operating General Partner at monashees, an early-stage venture capital firm with a sector-agnostic approach fostering growth in Latin America. In his role at monashees, Guto adopts a "fractional founder" perspective, providing guidance as a board member and advisor to portfolio companies. He also leads the firm's Network Services, a team aimed at nurturing a mutually supportive community of founders and providing specialized operator advisory services. Before joining monashees, Guto helped building Elo7, a Brazilian marketplace for handmade and custom-ordered products backed by monashees, Accel, and Insight Partners, which was acquired by Etsy. Earlier in his career, he held product and general management roles at Yahoo and DivX.
