Idan Erdan
Idan holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from Ben-Gurion University and an MBA with a specialization in AI and Big Data from Reichman University. He likes sailing boats and surfing waves.
Idan is a Principal at Union Tech Ventures, the VC arm of Union Group, a family-owned company with operations of Toyota, H&M, Decathlon, real estate, and energy.
Idan focuses on early-growth investments: companies with established product-market fit, entering scale mode with a proven go-to-market strategy and team. He is sector-agnostic, with particular enthusiasm for AI, Space, and B2C. He serves as a director on the boards of several Union Tech Ventures portfolio companies.
Before venture capital, Idan spent several years in operational and leadership roles, building and managing high-performing teams under pressure. That experience shapes his investment philosophy: he believes the most important thing is partnering with the right people, and places significant weight on founders who project a winner's mindset and an unmistakably positive mentality.
