Idris holds degrees in Computer Engineering (BSc first class hons.) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria; Computer Science & Data Mining (MSc.) from the University of Houston; and Global Health Science (MSc.) from the University of Oxford, UK. He also holds an MBA from Rice University, and a Certificate in Exponential Technologies from Singularity University.

Idris Ayodeji Bello, a self-described ‘Afropreneur’, is the Founding & Managing Partner at LoftyInc Capital, an Africa-focused early stage venture capital firm. Idris is also a co-founder of the Wennovation Hub and the Lagos Angel Network, which have both played important pioneering roles in the African tech ecosystem. Listed among CNN’s Top Ten African Technology Voices, Idris has mentored and catalyzed scores of contributors across the growing African technology landscape. Some notable investments Idris has led include Andela, Flutterwave, WaveMobile, Touch and Pay, Trella, Chefaa, Moove Africa, RelianceHealth, and Paps. To date, LoftyInc Capital has invested into over 150 of Africa’s fastest growing enterprises, including three unicorns and attracted over $1.5 billion in follow-on funding into its portfolio companies, along with 14 realized exits. It has also built an extensive ecosystem in the process, spanning tech hubs, angel networks, and talent platforms. Idris is a Fellow of the Society for Corporate Governance in Nigeria, and serves on several boards including Stanbic IBTC Financial Services Limited, Sudo Africa, BodAdmin etc Prior to LoftyInc, Idris held senior management roles at Chevron Corporation, ExxonMobil and the Clinton Foundation Health Access Initiative, in the USA and sub-Saharan Africa.
