Education

John is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.A. in Economics. John is also a graduate of the Stanford Executive Program and a Chartered Financial Analyst. He is a Board Member of the CFA Society of San Francisco, an Advisory Council Member for the Master of Quantitative Economics at UCLA, a member of the Alumni Board of Serra High School, and actively involved with the Special Olympics of Northern California. John and his wife Beth live in Burlingame, CA. Recent empty nesters, they adore visiting their three children in college, exploring wine country, and finding the next best dining spot in San Francisco.

John is a Managing Partner at Next Legacy Partners. John invests in early-stage fintech, consumer, enterprise, and vertical SaaS companies, primarily in North America. John has been instrumental in developing the firm’s direct investment strategy through co-investments and dedicated direct funds. He also plays an integral role in the programming and education of Next Legacy’s Fellowship program. Previously, John was the CEO and Founder of Aspen Highland Management, sourcing and analyzing investments across various capital structures, investment stages, and industries for their high-net-worth families. His diversified portfolio of alternative investments included Loadsmart, Color Genomics, Palantir, ZipRecruiter, Unikey, Peek Travel, Uber, Facebook, New Fortress Energy, Top Golf, Coupang and Boom Supersonic. Prior to Aspen Highland, John was at Goldman Sachs in New York for nine years, primarily in a cross-asset capacity, advising hedge funds and family offices on structured investments and hedging strategies.
