Julian von Eckartsberg

Julian studied Business Administration with Mechanical Engieering at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) as well as HEC in Paris.

Originally from Germany, Julian spent much of his childhood living in Mexico, Spain, Colombia, and the United States. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, skiing, going to the gym, gardening, boating on Lake Ammersee, and - most of all - spending quality time with his family.

Julian is Managing Director Europe at Burda Principal Investments (BPI), one of the most active early growth capital investors specializing in Series B and later-stage rounds. He invests across Europe, with a strong focus on marketplaces, consumer subscriptions, and health tech. Prior to joining BPI, Julian served as CEO of Stylight, a fashion and home platform backed by General Atlantic and ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE. Earlier in his career, he led the Group Strategy department at ProSiebenSat.1, founded a couple of startups, and worked as a strategy consultant at Altman Solon, advising tech and telecom companies as well as TMT investors.
