
Konstantin Vinogradov
Konstantin earned his BSc and MSc degrees in applied mathematics and physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. He was listed in Forbes 30 Under 30 (2019) and recognized among the top 100 data-driven VC thought leaders (2024).
Konstantin ideated and co-founded several next-gen nonprofits, including the Open Source Endowment Foundation — the world’s first endowment fund dedicated exclusively to sustaining free open-source software. He currently serves as the Chairman of its board.
Beyond his work and philanthropic activities, Konstantin is an avid reader and outdoor enthusiast with a love for nature, animals and hiking.
Konstantin is the Founder and Managing Partner at Varion Ventures, a seed-stage venture firm specializing in open-source, AI, and infrastructure software. He is a tech-savvy investor with over a decade of VC experience, including seed checks in Higgsfield, Mastra, White Circle, Entire, ZML, Keep (acquired by Elastic), and Sidekick (acquired by Perplexity).
Previously, Konstantin was a General Partner at Runa Capital ($0.6B+ AUM), where he also created and led a quarterly ranking of trending open-source startups (the ROSS Index) and spearheaded the development of the internal data platform.
Prior to joining Runa, he led an international deep tech startup competition and worked at several seed-stage startups. He has also been programming since the age of 13.
