Education
Philipp graduated from Rice University with a B.A. in Mathematical Economic Analysis from and was a member of men’s tennis team. Originally from Munich, Germany, Philipp is also fluent in German.
Professional
Philipp is a Partner at Capital 49 and drives the firm’s AI and enterprise software investing efforts. He joined 468 Capital in 2026 from 468 Capital, an early-stage venture capital fund focused on all things enterprise software. Prior to joining 468, Philipp was with Sapphire Ventures and Goldman Sachs in San Francisco. Philipp was recognized in Business Insider's 25 Rising-Stars in VC of 2021.
