Pocket received her Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation degree from University of Southern California, and Bachelor of Business Administration from the College of William and Mary. She was also in the inaugural program of VC Unlocked at Stanford University.
Pocket is currently based in Vancouver, Canada with her partner and best friend, Dongfang. She travels frequently with no jet lag. Outside of work, she enjoys snowboarding, trying new restaurants, and hunting for vintage rare finds.
Pocket Sun is the Co-founder and Managing Partner of SoGal Ventures, a pioneering early-stage venture capital firm with $55M+ AUM, backing world-class women and diverse founders beyond Silicon Valley.
Since 2015, Pocket and her co-founder Elizabeth Galbut have invested in 150+ startups, identified five unicorns at inception, and delivered top-quartile returns to over 200 diverse LPs. SoGal is known for spotting what the world needs before it becomes obvious—often backing founders who go on to create entirely new categories in AI, digital health, care, sustainability, and culture-defining tech.
At the heart of Pocket’s investment philosophy is a belief in compassionate futurists: visionary entrepreneurs who build with empathy, science, and precision to transform how we live, work, and stay healthy.
