Ryan Sommerville

Ryan Sommerville is a General Partner at Antler US and founder of Criticality, a deep tech fund focused on generating top-tier returns while catalyzing durable economic development. He was Antler’s first US hire and played a central role in building the platform from the ground up - designing the US model, launching multiple markets (NYC, SF, Austin, Boulder), and raising several funds.

Ryan’s work sits at the intersection of firm-building, capital formation, and early-stage investing. He has backed and supported dozens of founders from inception, with a focus on identifying high-conviction opportunities at the earliest stages and helping them reach escape velocity. Through Criticality, he is developing a more concentrated investment strategy across areas including deep tech, energy systems, and frontier innovation.
