Staffan Helgesson

Staffan holds a BSc degree in Managerial Economics from the University of Lund where he graduated top of his class. In addition to his professional career, Staffan has been active across many sports, among them fencing, soccer and sailing. He has been a World Cup fencer as well as a national team player, national team coach and the President of the Swedish Field Hockey Association, as well as an advisor to the Swedish Fencing Association and the Swedish Olympic Committee. He has also won the European Cup Championship for Skerry cruisers and served on the board of BP, a Swedish professional soccer club as well as the largest soccer club in the world.

Staffan is the founder of and a General Partner at Creandum, one of the leading European VC firms with offices in London, Berlin, Stockholm and San Francisco. Based in Stockholm, he has worked in the European venture industry since 1999. He brings significant company-building experience, drawing lessons from the many ventures with which he has been associated. Staffan has set up two venture firms and been involved in close to 200 VC investments, across all technology sectors. Before founding Creandum, Staffan was the founder and Managing Partner of the mobile internet focused VC firm Startupfactory. He also brings extensive international management experience from McKinsey & Company, Procter & Gamble and IKEA, working in the Nordics, US, Europe and Asia.

Staffan is a member of Kauffman Fellows Class 10 and served his fellowship under mentor Phil Whickham at Creandum in Stockholm, Sweden. Completing the circle, Creandum thereafter has had an additional three Kauffman Fellows, Fredrik Cassel of Class 12, Daniel Blomquist of Class 16 and Carl Fritjofsson of Class 21.
