Jules Miller

IBM Blockchain Founder Accelerator

Jules is an impact investor, 3-time entrepreneur, “intrapreneur,” and hands-on operator. She started at IBM Blockchain Founder Accelerator in 2018 as a Partner. The accelerator's goal is to bring new blockchain networks into production, covering not just technology but also legal and business considerations.

Jules was previously a Partner at LunaCap Ventures, an early-stage venture debt fund investing in military veteran, women, and minority (MWM) founders. Before that she was interim COO of BRAVA Investments, which invests in companies that economically benefit women.

As an entrepreneur, Jules most recently co-founded and was Managing Director of Evolve Law, a community of legal innovators dedicated to accelerating the adoption of technology in the legal industry. Earlier she co-founded and was COO of Hire an Esquire, a venture-backed startup providing an on-demand workforce of attorneys to law firms and legal departments. Jules founded and led Carbonado Group, an on-demand workforce of sustainability experts.

Jules spent 7 years as an “intrapreneur,” helping companies such as Ernst & Young, Salesforce.com, and Tiffany & Co. launch and grow new business units, primarily focused on cleantech, environmental sustainability, and social responsibility.

Education, Personal, and Fellowship

Jules earned her BA from UCLA and her MSc from the London School of Economics.

She was a 2015 NYC Venture Fellow and is currently a #BUILTBYGIRLS mentor to high school girls interested in careers in tech. She also runs WoFo, a community of women founders in NYC. Jules is a fan of the opera and served on the Board of the Metropolitan Opera Guild. She lives in Brooklyn, New York, but won’t give up her California driver’s license and cell phone number.

Jules is a member of Class 22. She served the first year of her fellowship at at LunaCap Ventures and the second at the IBM Blockchain Founder Accelerator. Her mentors were LunaCap Managing Director Paul Capton and HBCUvc Managing Director Jorge Torres (Class 16).
