Balyasny Asset Management (BAM)
Marco DeMeireles is a Principal at Balyasny Asset Management (BAM), a multi-billion dollar investment firm, where he founded and leads their growth equity business focused on private technology investments across consumer Internet, digital media, FinTech, enterprise software, healthcare, and IT infrastructure globally.
At BAM, Marco is responsible for proprietary sourcing, investment idea generation, transaction leadership, and portfolio company board oversight. His current investments and directorships include Acorns, AUTO, Avant, Coinbase, Cuebiq, Intangible Labs, Orbital Insight, Spotify, Spring Labs, Peloton, and Zola, where he serves as Balyasny’s shareholder representative.
Additionally, Marco serves on the Advisory Committee of Primary Venture Partners and Work-Bench, two leading New York-based venture capital firms, and remains an active angel investor as a partner in Tribeca Angels.
Prior to joining BAM, Marco was with Technology Crossover Ventures, focused on growth-stage investments, and began his career in Morgan Stanley’s Technology Investment Banking Division in Menlo Park.
Education, Personal, and Fellowship
Marco attended Williams College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics and was a member of the men’s varsity lacrosse team.
He has a philanthropic interest in education and entrepreneurship, serving on several related nonprofit boards, and remains an active supporter of the Ethereum Foundation, Echoing Green, and the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE).
Marco is a member of Class 23, serving his fellowship at Balyasny in New York City under the mentorship of Lior Susan, Managing Partner of Eclipse VC.
