Toby Rush

Toby Rush is an investor and operator. He is currently operating as CEO of Smart Warehousing and investing in the supply chain and logistics space.

Previously, he led the International Technology Investments Team for Ant Group, a firm that originated from Alipay (Alibaba). Toby serves on the board for multiple startups and one side car fund.

Prior to that, he was CEO of ZOLOZ, an Alibaba company delivering a digital identity platform. ZOLOZ evolved from EyeVerify, which Rush founded in 2012, and which became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ant Financial in 2016. He also founded and led Rush Tracking Systems, an RFID solutions venture, to a successful exit to a Private Equity firm in 2009. His deep expertise in machine learning, computer vision and mobility from both startups and enterprises gives him early insight into the trends and technologies impacting consumers and the enterprise.

Prior to EyeVerify and Rush Tracking Systems, Toby led the product development & QA for SAT Corp, a venture funded mobile software company out of Houston. Toby also started and led the MobilEdge practice group for BSI consulting. He started his career with Accenture deploying SAP enterprise systems.

Education, Personal, and Fellowship

Toby holds an BS in engineering from Kansas State University.

He has been a member of the Kauffman Pipeline Fellowship (a Kauffman Foundation program for CEOs and entrepreneurs) for 11 years, and serves on a number of university entrepreneurship advisory committees. Toby loves being a husband to 1, father to 4 and a friend to many.

As a member of Class 23, Toby served his fellowship at Ant/Alibaba.
