Temi Awogboro

Temi Marcella Awogboro is an investor, pioneer and change agent driven by a mission to unlock the transformational power of capital as a catalyst for positive change globally.  She is a leading investment professional and executive with over 15 years of experience and has committed over half a billion dollars in capital across developed and growth markets. Her experience includes deal origination, execution, portfolio management, exits, business building, operations and board formation and management. 


Temi is the Founding Managing Partner of Alcent Capital, a venture capital fund, investing catalytic growth capital into proven technology companies with global ambitions, unlocking the vast potential across Africa’s leading tech ecosystems. Temi co-founded early-stage investment platforms, Kairos Angels and MAGIC, building a global portfolio of over 200 companies across 25 countries and 5 continents. Through her platforms, Temi is building and cultivating disruptive, transformative institutions that will emerge as today’s regional champions and tomorrow’s global challengers.


Temi most recently served as the Executive Director of Evercare Hospital Lekki, a TPG portfolio company, where she was instrumental in leading the investment in, designing, building, and operating one of the largest and most advanced private hospitals in Nigeria in a bid to transform the healthcare landscape. Prior to that, she was the regional lead of the US$ 1 billion Evercare Health Fund, managed by TPG Capital and The Rise Fund and comprised of the world's leading impact investors and global development finance institutions. She was a core part of the investment leadership team responsible for scaling Evercare from inception to a global platform highlighted as one of the top 50 leaders that will “come to define the world of tomorrow”.


Temi started her career at Goldman Sachs International, where she was selected as a GS Global Leaders Scholar and awarded the title of Goldman Sachs Global Leader.


Temi holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business and a Master of Arts (MA) degree with First Class Honors in Economics from Christ’s College, the University of Cambridge, where she was a matriculation scholar.


Temi was appointed by the President of Nigeria to sit on the Nigerian Health Sector Reform Committee under the Chairmanship of the Vice President of Nigeria. Temi sits on the Africa Advisory Board of the Save the Children International, and on the Board of Directors and Investment Committee at the Equality Fund.

Temi is a Milken Institute Young Leaders Circle (YLC) Fellow, Kauffman Venture Capital Fellow, Archbishop Desmond Tutu African Leadership Initiative Fellow, and a World Economic Forum Global Shaper alumni. She is a recipient of several awards and honours, including 100 Women from the Governor of Lagos State, the Future Awards Africa Prize for Professional Service, and M&A Advisor’s European Emerging Leaders Award.


Temi was a member of Class 23 and served her fellowship at TPGs Evercare Fund.
