Punit is a Director of Corporate Development at Amazon, where he leads venture investment strategy and drives M&A for AWS. Prior to Amazon, Punit was the Managing Director of Singtel Innov8, leading the fund’s US and Israel efforts. He joined Innov8 in 2011 shortly after the fund was formalized as an LP/GP fund and helped grow the fund to more than 110 investments globally. Punit started his venture career at Panorama Capital when that fund was getting started as a spinout of JPMorgan Partners. Punit is an approachable venture capitalist with a passion to bring step change technologies to market and has driven investments in dozens of technology companies across all stages of investment including notable acquisitions and IPOs.
Education, Personal, and Fellowship
Punit crossed over to venture after many years developing frontier technologies at notable institutions including IBM's T.J. Watson Research Center in New York. He holds a B.S. from Carnegie Mellon University, a Ph.D. from Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University of Michigan where he was a Frankel Fellow and Mondry Scholar. He is also a graduate of the hyper-connected Kauffman Fellows Program where he remains active as a society member and mentor.
Punit served his fellowship under mentor Shahan Soghikian at Panorama Capital as a member of Class 13.
