Hiroki Matsuda is a Partner at Sozo Ventures, where he conducts extensive data analysis to select portfolio candidates, works closely with LPs to develop go-to-global-market strategies for startups, and supports portfolio companies pre- and post-investment. Mr. Matsuda is uniquely qualified to help entrepreneurs expand globally, as he is the rare member of his generation who has deep cultural and business knowledge of startups and innovation in both Japan and the U.S.
Education, Personal, and Fellowship
Mr. Matsuda has a Master of International Affairs from the University of California, San Diego, School of Global Policy and Strategy and earned his BA in Business and Commerce at Keio University, with a minor in International Relations.
When he’s not crunching data on industry momentum, he’s probably studying the tricks and techniques of "pasta tensais" (tensai is 'genius' in Japanese) like Massimo Bottura and Koji Kobayashi on YouTube.
As a member of Class 26, Hiroki is serving his fellowship at Sozo Ventures under the mentorship of Phil Wickham (Kauffman Fellows Charter Class).
